From my FB Friend William Sharpe:, “So sorry to hear that

From my FB Friend William Sharpe:
“So sorry to hear that. I know how much this pains you. I have taken the tack to not talk politics with family if I can at all avoid it. I do post political post and don’t hide my politics or the fact that I consider myself an agnostic, having become disappointed and weary of the hypocrisy of American Christians, as well as having read and researched many facets of Christianity and history. I have found many people confuse agnostic with atheist. Not all conservatives are extreme and not all Christians are hypocrites, but I have a hard time understanding the hatred of Obama and Hillary, and the embracing of Trump. It definitely takes someone looking the other way from their Christian values to embrace an immoral man like Trump (admitted sex offender, multiple marriages, children by 3 wives, cheated on at least two of his wives, has never confessed his sins and sought forgiveness and all around lacking humility).”

After being told by an aunt to “let it go” with cute little musical quotes, I respectfully declined, told her I knew my dad would be proud of me for getting political, and if she didn’t like/want to see my posts, she was free to unfriend me, and she di…

True, I too have taken the tack of not talking politics with family, I rather embrace the belief as written, not to preach or teach religion, just live the example as symbolic of my beliefs. Being tolerant of others and if asked, of my belief, it’s wha…

Those people aren’t Christians. They’re “evangelicals” (formerly called the teabaggers), the same people Karl Rove annexed for Dubya by calling their hate and racism “Christianity”. You can even trace the roots of their power madness back to the tim…

I fully agree with you and all of the comments I’ve seen. Those self-professed religious zealots called evangelicals disgust me to no end with their two-faced Christianity. My cat is more Christ-like than they are.
On another note, my side of my famil…

until the last few years, I never really understood how religion and politics could divide familes, friendships and neighborhoods; I thought that was over and done with after the Civil War. It’s a sad lesson to have to learn.

Tonni Riley thank you for sharing William Sharpe’s post. It was so refreshing to hear someone state his views clearly, logically, calmly – without name-calling or disrespecting others for differing views. We need more moderate voices out there like William’s (it was also a great post to start my day – thanks again for sharing it)

Christians really go for the redemption angle. When I was in elementary school , my baptist church would bring in convicts who turned to jesus. It was a big event

Donald falls into this mode He can threaten to kill every person in N Korea one day and bring in the Prayer ministers on the same day. Then the media cover it. Evil followed by redemption is reduced to the news cycle
